Chef Martinez started cooking at an early age right out of high school in several restaurants while living in Augusta Georgia, including the famed French Market Grille. After relocating to North Carolina in the early 90’s Chef Martinez was accepted into the three year American Culinary Apprenticeship Program under the guidance of Russian Chef Gary Kowal as his mentor. Upon completing the program Jeffrey assumed many leadership roles at the hotel, such as Sous Chef, Garde Manger Chef, Banquet chef and country club executive chef. Chef Martinez was the Executive chef at Devils Ridge Country Club in Raleigh North Carolina and has traveled extensively working in hotels and resorts, such as Barton Creek Golf Resort in Austin Texas, The Homestead in Hot Springs Virginia, The Balsams Ski Resort in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire and has worked on government remote oil and gas operations in Williston North Dakota and Pearsall Texas.

Since moving to Chattanooga in 2008, Jeffrey, along with his sister Michele, have catered several wedding and corporate events. Simple 2 Elegant Personal Chef Service was founded in 2018 and its main focus is to provide healthy nutritious meals prepared in the privacy of your home. Chef Martinez will consult with you on your menus, shop for groceries and prepare delicious meals in your home and leave your kitchen spotless. Other services include dinner parties, romantic dinners for two, private cooking lessons and cooking demonstrations.
