This Sunday, August 6th, the Chattanooga Market will be joining farmers markets across the state in celebration of farms and those who support local food programs. National Farmers Market Week is an opportunity to take time to visit with farmers and food artisans. Pick TN will be on hand as well, sharing information about supporting local agriculture and connecting us with the chefs and restaurants who share that mission.
UPDATE: Yesterday’s FiveStar Food Fight produced another champion at the annual cook-off where chefs shop at the market, prepare their dishes in front of a live audience and present to five judges. Ben Park, sous chef at Easy Bistro & Bar won the competition by thinking quick on his feet in utilizing Springer Mountain Farms chicken and fresh ingredients right from the Chattanooga Market.
