FiveStar Food Fight 2017

FIVE OF CHATTANOOGA’S BEST CHEFS COOKING LIVE FOR THE WIN

CHATTANOOGA MARKET, SUNDAY, JULY 30th—One of our most anticipated annual “foodie” events of the season…Local chefs compete live at the Chattanooga Market under the pressure of patrons watching their every move. Five local chefs are chosen to compete in this event where they will have to be creative, quick-thinking and woo our judges.

It’s the culminating event of Chattanooga Magazine’s Restaurant Week (July 24th-30th), designed to celebrate & support our local food scene: the chefs, farms and the original restaurants in greater Chattanooga. (Check here for participating restaurants).

2016 FiveStar Food Fight Champion Patrick Halloran of Hummingbird Pastaria

The FiveStar Food Fight starts when the chefs arrive early, just before the Market opens, taking time to methodically set up their cooking stations equipped with their own knives, cooking supplies…and their best game. At 11:30 it’s time for them to shop for the fresh ingredients they will need to complete their main dish. The chefs are also given approximately 2 lbs of fresh Springer Mountain Farms chicken—the cuts are a complete surprise. Patrons are encouraged to watch & follow as the chefs choose amongst the freshest fruits, vegetables, spices, cheeses and more—right at the Market—to make their dish remarkable.

From about 12:00 till 2:00pm market-goers will watch the chefs demonstrate their culinary skills using FiveStar cooking ranges and presenting their dishes to our panel of judges.

Chattanooga Market proudly announces the return of Cast Iron Cook-Off emcee and Nashville-based “good food guru,” Dyan Damron. She will give our audience the play-by-play on what each chef is preparing, their ingredients and provide personal interviews from each.

It’s an exciting food event for everyone. See how shopping for local foods can easily, and affordably, be turned into something yummy and amazing!
